About "The View from Hampton U"

Hampton University has produced a new television show called "The View from Hampton U" in partnership with Cox Business and Cox Channel 11. The public affairs program features weekly news, talk, and reality show elements about Hampton University. The show debuted September 1, 2010 at noon on Cox Channel 11. It will run each week on Saturdays at 12:00 p.m., Sundays at 3:00p.m., and Fridays at 6:30p.m. Viewers are introduced to Hampton University's outstanding academic programs, high-caliber faculty, brilliant students, accomplished alumni, groundbreaking research and record-shattering athletics on the show. Co-hosts, model/actor Aaron Smith, and Hampton University students, Kiva Davis and Mariah Baylor, bring unique experiences and perspectives to the program.

"The View from Hampton U" is Executive Produced by Dr. William R. Harvey, President of Hampton University, and Eleanor Earl, Assistant Professor of English and Cinema Studies Program Coordinator. Ms. Earl, who also directs the show, is a 2009 recipient of the Edward L. Hamm, Sr. Distinguished Teaching Award.

"The View from Hampton U" will provide a comprehensive look at Hampton University's global research initiatives as well as the academic and student-based programs that we offer," explained Harvey. "We invite the Hampton Roads community to enjoy the program and get an up-close view of Hampton University."
